We have developed a whole school Literacy plan to support every student’s reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
Staff at Gladys Newton have had extensive professional development and focused support from Therapy Focus and Edith Cowan University (ECU) to improve and work towards best practice in providing positive behavior support and enhancing the communication, language and literacy for all students.
Within the school community, Augmented Alternative Communication (AAC) tools have been widely embraced, including the use of core word lanyards, desktop placemats and PODD books.
