Within this priority we are aiming to prepare all of our students with the knowledge, skills and understanding of what is required in a workplace environment.
Structured Workplace Learning program at Gladys Newton School, prepares students for employment by providing them with the knowledge and skills needed in a work environment. Students are given the opportunity to integrate practical on-the-job experience and learning in a supported workplace. The program provides our students with the opportunity for:
- enhanced skill development
- opportunity to develop and gain work-related competencies
- achievement of some learning outcomes
- enhanced employment opportunities
- exposure to the world of work
The program is of sufficient duration and depth to enable our students to acquire an acceptable understanding of the enterprise/industry to be able to demonstrate reasonable competence according to industry standards.
