Kitchen Garden

The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program at Gladys Newton School allows students to explore and use their senses in weekly learning sessions within our amazing garden and kitchen facilities.

Students learn about  different fruits, vegetables and herbs and help to plant, maintain and harvest them throughout the year, These foods are then used to make various dishes in the kitchen. Through these weekly learning experiences, students lean vital independence and life skills that will last a lifetime.

We are passionate about finding innovative ways to share the values, vision and purpose of this program and ensuring we develop engaging and innovating opportunities for our school community.

Including students in all activities within this program is vital as they learn how to live in a sustainable community and enables our students to form positive food habits by cooking the delicious meals each week.
